Andre Dawson was known as the Hawk or Awesome Dawson, he was the NL rookie of the year in 1977. He was an 8 time All-Star, a 4 time Silver Slugger award winner, an 8 time Gold Glove award winner and was the NL MVP in 1987.  The MVP award is most impressive since he won this while playing on a last place team.  Andre Dawson was a generational athlete, and he possessed the speed to steal a base, cover vast areas in the outfield, hit for average or power and with his great throwing arm he could throw runners out while they attempted to advance to any base.  Dawson was deservedly elected to the MLB Hall of Fame in 2010.
