Chicago Bears Hall of Famer, Mike Ditka is advancing a pass play against the Green Bay Packers with Ray Nitshke and others in hot pursuit.  Ditka was a hard runner and exceptional at breaking tackles in the open field.  Here Iron Mike is breaking through a tackling effort with the other players closing in.  Ditka was one of the first tight ends to be featured in a prominent role in the offensive passing trend.  Ditka’s career was during a period when time of possession, ball control and field position were more valued than passing the ball.  Still, he amassed some amazing statistics during his career.  This picture catches Ditka breaking a tackle with other Packer players coming in to try to bring him down.
